Evaluation of the carbon footprint for existing management practices in Polish farms.

The objective of the work package is to identify potential capacities of existing production technologies in Polish agriculture and possible enhancement of these technologies with mitigation and adaptation measures. For such objective, current CO2, CH4 and N2O emissions at the farm level and potential for its reduction is analyzed. For the determination of GHG emissions along the whole farm productive chain, Carbon Calculator V2-26 (JRC, Solagro) is used. We conduct two years of data collection survey in set of 250 farms located in different part of Poland selected from FADN database (European Farm Accountancy Data Network). We use various types of low and high carbon emission farming practices as well as specific adaptation practices that maintain satisfactory production level and income of the Polish farmers under present climate conditions in Poland. The work is carried out using innovative participatory mixed methods approach.
